“There is an urgent need for visible, equity-driven leaders who authentically represent the communities they serve. Throughout my career, I've focused on creating opportunities for young people to thrive, but I've noticed a troubling absence at the highest decision-making tables—there aren’t enough Black men, enough people of color, or enough leaders with lived experiences that reflect the communities most impacted by systemic issues like homelessness, poverty, and racial injustice.
This lack of representation motivates me deeply. I know what it feels like to navigate spaces where my perspective must be continually justified, even when my contributions clearly speak for themselves. I don’t want future generations of leaders to experience that isolation. Instead, I want to actively shape a landscape where representation is expected, and young leaders of color recognize their place at the top without question.”
Anthony Conley is a dynamic leader dedicated to connecting the dots between resources, organizations, and people to create sustainable communities from within. With a career rooted in supportive services, workforce development, and community partnerships, Anthony has built innovative pathways for young people and unhoused individuals to access housing, employment, and long-term stability.
As Director of Supportive Services at Covenant House California, he not only bridged gaps between nonprofit, corporate, and government sectors, but also focused on uplifting his employees and strengthening internal leadership. He prioritized staff development, mentorship, and creating opportunities for growth, ensuring that his team was empowered to drive impactful change. Under his leadership, workforce development programs expanded, employment pipelines were strengthened, and staff were supported in their professional journeys.
Now preparing to transition into his role as Senior Vice President of External Affairs at Brotherhood Crusade, Anthony is committed to bringing these partnerships forward while continuing to elevate the voices of his team and the communities they serve. He believes true change happens when people are empowered from within and given the tools to shape their own futures.
