Erica Lillquist (she/her)
“I have based my entire career on the idea of going to where I can have the greatest net impact. With each of my employers, I have held multiple roles, because I was happy to adapt and move into new areas to meet the needs of the agencies I was working for. I feel a deep sense of commitment to helping solve homelessness in Los Angeles and that it is my duty to continue to contribute my skills to this cause. It would be an honor to leverage the skills I have gained from working both on the frontlines with clients and in administrative/staff-serving roles in service of higher leadership.”
Erica Lillquist, MPA, is the Director of Learning and Engagement at The People Concern (TPC), one of LA County’s largest homeless service providers. With over 12 years of nonprofit experience, including 7 years in homeless services, Erica leverages her years of direct service experience to champion employee wellness with the goal of making the employee experience the most equitable and supportive it can be. Prior to her current role, Erica held several positions in leadership within TPC’s interim housing department, including Project Director of Cloverfield in Santa Monica.
Previous to her work at TPC, Erica worked for 6 years in HIV public health. She spent 3.5 years in the US Peace Corps in Ethiopia, working for 2.5 years in rural communities, and also in a one-year placement at Population Services International. Upon completion of her service, she worked at the Black AIDS Institute in Los Angeles, the only national thinktank focused exclusively on race and HIV.
With a wide range of nonprofit experiences, Erica is a resourceful, dedicated, critical thinker, committed to making the world a better place, one client interaction and staff experience at a time. Erica earned her MPA in Public and Nonprofit Management and her BA in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
