I've made connections that I wasn't expecting, and now I have people that are my people. There's not enough space for us that is curated by us to create more of us. And this fellowship is that.

I literally had my supervision with my boss yesterday and we're talking about changing my title, which of course comes with a pay raise. I don't think I would have ever advocated for myself without the tools that I built from this fellowship. I was able to talk about pay bands, the equity of the work and how it's not aligned with the pay scale. I attribute my confidence to this fellowship.

It's changed my perspective on not only the homelessness sector, but also just leadership and that you are able to do what you think you can't and people told you you couldn't, but you can do it. And this really gave me the motivation to keep pushing forward.

Take the leap of faith that you're going to be supported. You are going to be challenged. You are going to be invigorated in the space and your true authentic self is allowed to thrive here. Take advantage of the opportunities for the happy hours afterwards. I feel like that's another space where the work happens and it's a different vibe and it's important.

I love the fact that we use Discord to stay in touch with each other and sometimes staying in touch is just offering a kind word or saying 'I'm here for you.' There have been times where people post that their organization is hiring or someone is having a difficult time pushing work forward, and others jump in to help. I love that because sometimes this work can be isolating.

The Fellowship gives us the space to pour into our own cup, pour into each other's cup, and actually take care of ourselves so we can stop talking about it and actually be about it.

The Fellowship is led by some folks that really took a chance on trying to build something with love, dignity, and respect for one another. They are folks that decided to help others reach that next level.
