Mark leads Chrysalis, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit that works with the homeless and those disconnected from the workforce to help them find and retain employment. During his thirteen years at the agency, Mark has led significant expansion of Chrysalis, including doubling programmatic outcomes and the opening of new centers in Orange County and South Los Angeles. In 2019, Chrysalis helped over 2550 of its clients find employment, while also employing over 1400 clients in one of its three social enterprises.

Mark has a diverse skill set developed over 30 years as both an entrepreneur and a corporate leader. Early in his career, Mark held various sales and technical positions for nearly a decade at IBM in both Washington, D.C. and New York. Among his entrepreneurial ventures, Mark founded, operated, and eventually sold one of the first restaurant delivery companies in Southern California. He is on the board of SVP-Los Angeles, the board of the Central City Association of Los Angeles, the advisory board of the California Community Foundation’s BLOOM Initiative, is a Senior Fellow at USC’s Brittingham Social Enterprise Lab, and is an adjunct faculty member in Antioch University’s Master of Nonprofit Management Program. Mark holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California Davis and a Masters in International Business from George Washington University.
