The Social Impact Center

Felicia Carbajal (they/them)

“Our initiative will help support people with old convictions. We have created a community-first approach leveraging technology to expedite the process.”

The Social Impact Center is committed to overhauling LA's expungement system, a process notoriously known for its inefficiency and biased impact on communities affected by the War on Drugs and BIPOC/LGBTQ+ individuals. By leveraging cutting-edge virtual and AI tools, and collaborating with key legal stakeholders, the center aims to democratize expungement access, enhance trauma-informed rights education, and establish a scalable model for technology-driven justice, fostering stability in housing and employment across LA County.
