Wellbeing Series: Cultivating Emotional Well-Being with Siedeh Foxie

It is said that the quality of our thoughts creates our reality, though often times the unprocessed feelings and repressed emotions that comprise these thoughts show up in our reality as mental unrest, discomfort, or pain in the physical body. If emotions are the language of the body, how can we become better listeners? How do we honor our emotions to cultivate a true understanding of our needs so that we may live a life co-created in harmony and balance?

By tapping into our emotional intelligence systems and befriending the body, we’ll engage in a practice to broaden our perspective of self-healing and remembrance. Through a blend of modalities, including breathwork, intuitive movement, active touch, and felt sense, we’ll explore how our bodies can retrieve memories of the past while holding space for our emotions as they arise in the present. This integrated practice will give us new ways to safely embody our emotions empowering us to move forward with compassion and wholeness.

Siedeh Foxie is an intuitive guide, teacher, and student of the healing arts through ancient cultural traditions. Shaped by a rich ancestral lineage, her practice encompasses breath, movement, and energy healing through active touch and manual therapy. Embedded in spiritual studies and cultivating right relationship with the earth, Siedeh’s work is trauma-informed, with a focus on somatic skills, safe integration, and embodiment. As a certified therapeutic breathwork facilitator, she focuses on utilizing the spirit of breath as a catalyst for transpersonal shifts and self-actualization.

With a growing love for this work inspired by systems of community care and knowledge sharing, Siedeh has been in practice and holding space for transformation since 2013. Her work centers and aims to uplift those from the African diaspora, Indigenous people, and other marginalized communities around the world. She acknowledges and humbly gives thanks to the original people and wisdom keepers, honorable ancestors, plant spirits, elders, and guides who have walked the path before us.

SJPLA’s Wellbeing Series is a free workshop every second Thursday of the month at 11 am. The workshops introduce a variety of healing modalities as part of our Racial Equity in Homelessness Initiative. These sessions promote personal rest, renewal, and connection creating space for discussion on how to sustain wellbeing practices.
