Wellbeing Series: EFT for Stress Relief and Resilience

This workshop will introduce participants to Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), a mind-body modality that puts the power of stress relief into your own hands. Join us to learn how it works and experience guided Tapping sequences to calm the nervous system. You will also learn ways to practice Tapping effectively and safely in different situations with an emphasis on challenges faced by caregiving professionals.

Luz Chacón, MPH is a Certified Wellness Coach and trauma-informed EFT Tapping Practitioner with 35+ years of experience in community health and healing-centered coaching. She is the founder of Live-Work Well, a practice that supports nonprofit professionals—especially women and BIPOC workers.

Her many years of experience in the nonprofit sector inspired her to create the “Employee Wellbeing Program: Creating a culture of wellness” designed to reduce stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue among social impact professionals. She has been implementing this program with L.A. nonprofit organizations for the past 3 years with measurable reductions in stress.

Luz integrates mind-body practices like EFT/Tapping, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation with an understanding of systemic oppression, chronic stress, and social determinants of health. Her approach centers community/team care that addresses both physical and mental wellbeing, while meeting people where they are.

SJPLA’s Wellbeing Series is a free workshop every second Thursday of the month at 11 am. The workshops introduce a variety of healing modalities as part of our Racial Equity in Homelessness Initiative. These sessions promote personal rest, renewal, and connection creating space for discussion on how to sustain wellbeing practices.
