Christina Herman (she/her)

Senior Communications Lead

As a first-generation Armenian Angeleno, Christina Herman (she/her) has experienced both the deep-rooted inequities in Los Angeles and the transformative power of community-led movements working to dismantle them. With over a decade of experience in the philanthropic sector, Christina is a seasoned marketing and communications leader with a strong focus on digital strategy, creative storytelling, and mission-driven content.

Christina serves as the Senior Communications Lead, where she oversees SJPLA’s branding, storytelling, digital engagement, and events to amplify community voices, advance social justice, and strengthen connections. Before joining SJPLA, she was the digital and creative manager at Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and Union Station Homeless Services, crafting strategic communications campaigns that uplifted both brand and programmatic goals.

Christina earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz, double majoring in Modern Literature and Language Studies in Spanish. While there, she was deeply involved on campus and in the community, receiving both the Presidential Volunteer Service Award and the College Service Award.

Outside of work, you can find Christina exploring the outdoors and going on adventures with her family, behind the camera or with a pen in her hand, trying to capture every moment.
